About

Meet the organization, people, standards, and public commitments responsible for carrying ReDrafting America from an ambitious idea to a credible civic institution.

This section answers the questions any careful reader should ask before trusting a proposal to rewrite the nation’s founding document: who is behind it, why it exists, what principles guide it, and what rules bind the people doing the work.

Start with Our Story to learn how the project began, then read the Mission for what it is trying to accomplish. Governance holds the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws that legally define the organization, and Leadership introduces the people currently accountable for it, including which roles are filled today and which are still being built.

ReDrafting America is in its prelaunch stage. Its Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are being submitted in October 2026, and its 501(c)(3) status is expected before the end of the year.

Our Story

How ReDrafting America grew from a single 2017 Facebook comment into the work of drafting Constitution v2.0. It covers the founder’s oath of service, the engineering habits that shaped the project, the events that raised its urgency, and the moment the idea became an organization. It also links to the original 2017 message that started it.

Mission

The organization’s primary mission and why the work matters in a world of concentrated power, artificial intelligence, and information systems that can influence millions at once. It sets out the Foundational Principles from the Bylaws, what the organization does in design, education, and public participation, how it works, and where the work stands today.

Governance

The Articles of Incorporation say what RDA is. The Bylaws say how RDA must behave. Together they work much like a constitution and the laws written under it, and both will be published in full so the public can hold the organization to its own rules before trusting it with a proposed Constitution.

Leadership

The people presently responsible for the organization, their relevant backgrounds, and the distinction between current authority and the leadership structure still being built. Today that means the Founder and President; as the organization grows, a Board of Directors and officers will take on distinct, accountable responsibilities.
