ReDrafting America is a nonprofit civic initiative writing Constitution v2.0, a proposed modern constitution for the United States built around truth, accountability, and human dignity, and meant to be ready before the country needs it.

Many modern democracies are struggling because their political and institutional systems were designed for the realities of the 18th and 19th centuries — not the technological, informational, and geopolitical challenges of the modern world.
The Constitution already anticipates its own renewal. Under Article V, two-thirds of the states can require Congress to call a convention for proposing amendments. It has never happened, but campaigns to call one have been gathering applications in statehouse after statehouse for years. If a convention were called tomorrow, its delegates would have no complete, publicly tested proposal in front of them.
ReDrafting America exists to change that, preserving the strongest principles of constitutional liberty, democratic representation, individual rights, and human dignity while redesigning the institutions that carry them.
Our flagship work is a complete proposed constitution for the United States. In its pages, the nation carries a working name, the United Republic of America, and the National Seal on our Mission page is its proposed seal.
Structured into Articles covering rights and liberties, government structure, elections, economics, judicial systems, and civic participation — with a Five Branch Government that adds independent Education and Oversight branches to the traditional three.
We intend it to become the world’s greatest constitution, a title it must earn and can never declare. Every Article will be published with a plain-language Explainer, and every revision will be recorded in public.
Every institution in Constitution v2.0 is named, defined, and grounded in a guiding principle — from the Concordium (legislative) to the Veritium (independent oversight). This is a working reference, not a finished product.
The names are Latin by design. Latin is the traditional language of law, and each name carries the ideal its institution serves: the Concordium from concordia, harmony; the Aequitium from aequitas, equity; the Sapientium from sapientia, wisdom; and the Veritium from veritas, truth.
The lexicon is a table of ten proposed constitutional institutions. The five branches are the Concordium, which enacts laws and represents harmony; the Diligentium, which executes laws and represents diligence; the Aequitium, which interprets laws and represents equity; the Sapientium, which educates and certifies candidates and represents wisdom; and the Veritium, which provides independent oversight and represents truth. Five supporting institutions are the Consilium for state and local counsel; the Virtutium for national defense; the Discernium for intelligence; the Praesidium for executive coordination; and the Aerarium for public finance. The design principles are to unify services, separate powers, eliminate duplication, and preserve accountability. The cited inspirations are the Roman Republic, Latin civic tradition, Sun Yat-sen's five-power constitution, and German eternity clauses.
Constitution v2.0 proposes a secure digital civic infrastructure — citizen portals, transparent participation systems, and modernized public services — designed to remain publicly auditable, constitutionally limited, and subordinate to civil-liberty protections at every step.
The Citizen Portal concept shows a verified citizen using a secure connection, with sixteen service categories: Identity and Documents; Voting and Civic Participation; Rights, Benefits and Entitlements; Legal Status and Case History; Taxes and Public Finance; Education and Credentials; Employment and Licensing; Property and Registered Assets; Health and Human Services; Transportation and Mobility; Emergency Alerts and Public Safety; Permits and Regulatory Services; Renewals and Expiration Notices; Secure Government Messages; Privacy, Security and Consent; and Public Records and Data Access.
ReDrafting America is ultimately an invitation to imagine how democratic civilization might evolve to meet the challenges of the modern age — without abandoning liberty, truth, human dignity, or constitutional governance.
It’s rooted in the belief that humanity is capable of building institutions that are more transparent, more accountable, more resilient, and more humane than those inherited from the past.
E Pluribus Unum — “Out of Many, One” — answered the question of 1787: how could thirteen states become one nation? Ex Uno Floremus — “From One, We Flourish” — asks the question that follows: now that we are one, what shall we become?
